The
OPAT Program proudly announces cooperation with the AOA Commission
on Paraoptometric Certification (CPC) to allow OPAT Level One graduates
to take the AOA Paraoptometric Section Level 2 exam.
OPAT,
the Optometric Assistant and Technician Program, has been developed
over the last three years to upgrade the professionalism and competency
level of eye care staff and to give successful students in the program
meaningful professional credentials. To date, more than 2,000 eyecare
staff are participating in the program.
Designed
to help staff provide enhanced patient care, OPAT will be presented
nationwide in 2003 at major optometric-based meetings at both regional
and state levels. For a listing of OPAT presentations in your area,
check out the Schedule of Events.
Developed
by the Indiana University School of Optometry, OPAT offers students
three levels of achievement. The educational program is taught by
professors and instructors associated with schools and colleges of
optometry, making the completion of each level more meaningful to
both staff and practitioners. Students can progress at their own pace
through the program. Find out more details About
OPAT.
Become
more valuable to your eyecare practitioner and enhance your career
path with OPAT. OPAT courses are also approved for credit with ABO
(American Board of Opticianry).
